Heart and Soul Birthday Club

The Heart and Soul Birthday Club hosted it’s annual Christmas Party Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the UAW Local 2166 Union Hall, 6881 Industrial Loop.

Now in it’s 13th year, club members provided the opportunity to relax and enjoy the holiday season with friends, food and entertainment.

The Heart & Soul Birthday Club members are (from left to right) Barbara Jacobs, Shirley Mosley, Melinda Smith, Vickie Pannell, Yvonne Small, Emma Thomas, Doris Jackson, Alma Taylor, Shelia Williams, Dee Player, Pamela Thomas, Gloria Crew, Joyce Powell, Joyce Young and Doretha Small.

This year’s theme focused on combating hunger in communities. In order to meet the needs of the community and give support to the UAW food drive, each guest was instructed to bring food items such as peanut butter, canned meats and canned fruits. The response was overwhelming. Over 500 pounds of food was collected at the door. The food items were donated to the Northwest Louisiana Food Bank from Heart & Soul in conjunction with the UAW food drive.

Club President, Emma Thomas, expressed appreciation to members and guests for a successful food drive and turn out.
